You'll learn how to build your tree by layering fabric strips onto a foundation before finishing it with a charming raw-edge appliqué. After washing, the exposed fabric edges soften and fray beautifully, creating a cozy, textured look that's perfect for the holiday season.
While this technique can also be used to embellish sweatshirts, t-shirts, tote bags, and more, in this class you'll create a beautiful decorative pillow that's sure to become a favorite part of your Christmas décor year after year.
Skill Level: Beginner- This class is perfect for confident beginners who have completed our Quilting 101or have comparable machine experience. Students should be comfortable threading and operating a sewing machine on their own.
Materials Needed:
8 to 10 coordinating fabric scraps for the tree
Thread (we like clear, monofilament thread, coming soon!)
Tools To Bring:
- fabric scissors
- pinking shears (optional)
- seam ripper or seam ripper
- pins or clips
