Learn-to-Garment 101 Series – Emerson Pants by True Bias

Continue your garment sewing journey with our Learn-to-Garment 101 Series! Build your foundation with the Emerson Pants by True Bias.

In this two-session class, you'll continue developing your garment sewing skills while learning techniques specifically for sewing pants or optional shorts. You'll gain confidence with pattern layout and cutting, constructing and attaching front pockets, sewing pleats and an elastic waistband, hemming, and achieving a polished, professional finish.

The Emerson Pants feature a relaxed fit with an elastic waist, roomy front pockets, and a modern cropped wide-leg silhouette—making them a comfortable wardrobe staple you'll want to sew again and again.

By the end of class, you'll not only leave with a beautiful handmade pair of pants or shorts, but you'll also have the confidence and skills to tackle even more garment projects on your own.

Prerequisite: This class is perfect for confident beginners who have completed our Sewing 101 or have comparable machine experience. Students should be comfortable threading and operating a sewing machine on their own.

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner 

Main Fabric: Light to medium weight woven fabrics such as lines, cotton, rayon challis, and chambray.

Supply List: 

• (1) Pattern: Emerson Pants by True Bias
• Fabric and notions as listed on the pattern envelope for your selected view and size
• (1) Spool of coordinating thread
• Basic sewing supplies (pins, fabric scissors, seam ripper, marking tool, etc.)

If we’re not able to fill your spot, or if you cancel with less than 72 hours’ notice, we’ll issue you a credit that can be used toward a future class.
