Learn to Garment Sew 101 Series: Cielo Top by Closet Core

Ready to take the next step in your sewing journey? Join us as we create the popular Cielo Top by Closet Core Patterns! This beginner-friendly garment is the perfect introduction to sewing apparel and will help you build confidence working with commercial sewing patterns.

In this class, students will learn how to read and follow a garment pattern, take accurate body measurements, select the correct size, cut fabric, transfer markings, construct a garment, and finish seams professionally. Along the way, we'll discuss garment sewing techniques and tips to help you achieve a beautiful, handmade top you'll be proud to wear.

The Cielo Top features a relaxed fit, simple construction, and modern styling, making it a versatile wardrobe staple and an excellent first garment project.

Prerequisite: Students must be comfortable threading and independently operating a sewing machine and should have completed Sewing 101 or possess equivalent sewing experience.

Supply List

• (1) Pattern: Cielo Top by Closet Core Patterns
• Fabric and notions as listed on the pattern envelope for your selected view and size
• (1) Spool of coordinating thread
• Basic sewing supplies (pins, fabric scissors, seam ripper, marking tool, etc.)

We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel your class, please let us know by email at least 72 hours in advance. If we’re able to fill your spot from our waitlist, we’ll issue you a full refund.

If we’re not able to fill your spot, or if you cancel with less than 72 hours’ notice, we’ll issue you a credit that can be used toward a future class.
