Adult Learn-To-Sew 101 It's a Cinch!

Ever wanted to learn how to sew but didn’t know where to start? This 2.5-hour beginner workshop is designed to take you from “brand new” to confidently stitching on your own.
We’ll begin by demystifying the sewing machine—showing you how it works, how to wind a bobbin, and how to thread it properly. From there, you’ll practice on small pieces of fabric to get a feel for the foot pedal and learn how to control your speed. You’ll also build core skills like sewing straight with an even seam allowance, backstitching to lock your stitches in place, and using a seam ripper when things don’t go quite right.
Once you’ve got the basics down, you’ll put them into action by sewing a lined drawstring bag from start to finish.
This workshop is ideal for true beginners and anyone who’s feeling rusty after time away from sewing. By the end of class, you’ll have a finished project in hand and the confidence to keep creating on your own.
