Start small, dream big — your quilting journey begins!

Wrap yourself in the joy of quilting with this heartwarming 4-week beginner course. Students will learn the foundational skills of quilting while creating a beautiful 48" x 48" quilt — the perfect size for a baby gift or a cozy lap throw. Using beginner-friendly half-square triangles, you'll be gently guided through each step of the process, from cutting and piecing to basting, quilting, and binding. With plenty of hands-on time and personalized support from your instructor, this class is a wonderful way to build confidence, spark creativity, and sew something truly special.

Important Notes:
-This course includes plenty of class time to make great progress on your quilt, and many students are able to finish during the sessions. However, depending on your pace, you may need to do a little sewing at home to complete your project by the end of the course.
- Fabrics for the quilt top must be purchased before (and brought to) the first class.

Required Materials:
- (1) Pattern: Simple Star Quilt by Studio M Squared
- star fabrics: (8) fat quarters or (8) 3/8 yd cuts
- background fabrics: (8) fat quarters or (8) 3/8 yd cuts of quilting cotton; alternatively, if using (1) fabric for the entire background, you will need 1 yd of quilting cotton
- border/sashing fabric: 1/2 yd of quilting cotton
- backing fabric: 3 1/4 yd of quilting cotton
- binding fabric: 3/8 yard of quilting cotton
- cotton batting: twin size - at least 54" x 54"
- (1) spool 50 weight Aurifil thread for piecing - available to purchase in our shop
- (1) spool 40 weight Aurifil for quilting - available to purchase in our shop

Required Tools: 
- (1) packs of curved basting pins
- rotary cutter + acrylic ruler 
- seam ripper or seam ripper
- pins and/or wonder clips
- chalk or frixion pen

We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel your class, please let us know by email at least 72 hours in advance. If we’re able to fill your spot from our waitlist, we’ll issue you a full refund.

If we’re not able to fill your spot, or if you cancel with less than 72 hours’ notice, we’ll issue you a credit that can be used toward a future class.
