Adult Sewing 101: Learn-to-Sew: Drawstring Bag!
In this 2.5-hour workshop you will learn all the basics of the timeless craft of sewing on our machines. First, you will learn the machine itself and how it works, including how to wind a bobbin and thread the machine. After you've prepared your machine correctly, you will test your sewing skills on small samples of fabric to familiarize yourself with the foot pedal and the different speeds of the machine. Additional skills learned in class include practicing seam allowance, backstitching, and how to rip seams if needed. Finally, you will put your new skills to use and make a lined drawstring bag!

Have you completed your Sewing 101 course and are looking for your next project? We have the answer for you! Come join us to make the "Tote-ally Easy" tote bag from Studio M Squared patterns. In class, we will be making the Market Tote (the pattern offers the choice of two tote types). The market tote is fully lined and features boxed bottoms. The fusible interfacing gives the bag some structure and sturdiness, while still being lightweight enough to fold up and store away! This class offers the next step in sewing, reinforcing what was learned in Sewing 101. Students will learn new techniques to expand their sewing abilities, while making something both practical and beautiful.
